Debbie was born in Scotland and raised in Ireland. Debbie helped her mother sew as a past time. By the time Debbie started a family, she wanted to stay home and raise them. So she started home interior decorating ~ drapes, valances etc. This lead to more challenging projects, such as wedding gowns and all formal wear. Then her daughters started taking Irish step dancing lessons (keeping up the heritage). She made her daughter's first dress and since then Celtic Art began!
She has branched out and includes Christening gowns and Communion dresses with Celtic art and other unique forms of embroidery. Christmas tree skirts and Family Tree Banners that relate to the family heritage, theme or all the members of the family "roots". Her Christmas tree skirts include the family coat of arms, all the family names with special emphasis on embroidery and unique ideas are included. See her pricing section for instructions on how to order something special for your family or a friend.
But, her greatest love is "Wedding Gowns and all the wedding party gowns". Debbie has been making these gowns for 25 years...and the designs are ever-changing, every bride has a story, and Deb loves filling their dreams. Show her a picture(s) and she will create what you want. Bridesmaids dresses can be made, whether they live in the same state or not..ideas and measurements is all she needs. Whether your wedding is by the sea, in a castle, small hall, mansion, down a wooded trail or at your own family homestead...she will make everything come true.
Debbie can find the materials to be creative, unique and affordable. If you want Irish linen, Italian Lace, India, France or a calico print she will find it. Flower girls, junior brides, grooms men vest, cummerbunds, she can take care of them all.
Mother of the bride or groom...don't put your mother in a mop of material that just hangs her...let Deb style her dress..she deserves to look beautiful and a little sexy too. All Deb's work will be done within your budget. All plans are laid out before you start the order.
She has created dance costumes for numerous schools. Among them are O'Hares School of Irish Dance, Heinzmans (Ardan) School of Irish Dance, Donohues School of Irish Dance. She has since added Dancin' Feet School of Music & Dance and Tir Na N'Og Gaelic Dancers.
Her work is very unique, you name it, and she will create it. Show her a picture or just give her an idea and she will design a creative work of art just for you. She believes in tradition, but a piece of you must be in the Celtic art that she designs. Especially with the championship dresses she has created, each one tells a story about the person that is wearing it. Most of her pieces are original.
